Evaluation of intracranial aneurysm by means of low kV CT angiography
Abstract:Objective To use low kV CT angiography (80kVp) to examine intracranial aneurysm and to evaluate its image quality so as to reduce radiation dose that patients receive .Methods The three group data obtained from 35 patients who underwent dual-source CT for intracranial angiography were retrospectively analyzed :fusion image ( equivalently routine 120 kVp,reconstruction function D30),CT data sets were reconstructed with FBP;80 kVp data, reconstruction function was D30 and I30,respectively,CT data sets were reconstructed with FBP and IRIS .The average CT value and noise of intracranial aneurysm were detected ,the signal-to-noise ratio and contrast-to-noise ratio of aneurysms were calculated and the image quality was evaluated and compared among three groups .Results The signal-to-noise ratio and contrast-to-noise ratio in 80kVp(I30) group were significantly higher than those in 80 kVp(D30)group and fusion group ( P <0.05).However the image quality and satiation diagnosis rate in 80-kVp(D30) group were significantly lower than those in 80 kVp(I30)group and fusion image group ( P <0.05).Conclusion The low KV CT angiography (80-kVp) in detecting intracranial aneurysm is feasible ,and obtained image can satisfy the requirement for diagnosis .
