Determination of the releasing rate of Compound Doxycycline Sustained-release Gel in vivo
Abstract:Objective To observe the releasing rate in vivo of Compound Doxycycline Sustained-release Gel. Methods 11 patients were enrolled in and 26 teeth were divided into Experimental group and Control group .After one week of initial treatment ,the periodontal pockets of defective teeth in Control group were injected Compound Doxycycline Gel and those in experimental group were injected Compound Doxycycline Sustained-release Gel.Gingival crevicular fluid ( GCF ) samples were collected every day by filter strip after administering medicine ,and the concentration of doxycycline in GCF was tested by HPLC.Results The concentration of doxycycline in GCF decreased to 6.82μg/ml on the third day of treatment with Compound Doxycycline Gel;while the concentration of doxycycline in GCF could still maintain at 60 .46μg/ml on the seventh day after the treatment with Compound Doxycycline Sustained-release Gel.Conclusion Compound Doxycycline Sustained-release gel can be slowly released in periodontal pocket , and the doxycycline can be maintained at an effective concentration within a long time.
