The otsu Image Segmentation Algorithm Based on Improved Genetic Algorithm

Abstract：In the process of image segmentation,the traditional genetic algorithm has such defects as slow convergence speed and easily falling into local optimal solution.Therefore,this paper proposes an otsu image segmentation algorithm based on improved genetic algorithm.The proposed algorithm, on the basis of the original segmentation algorithm,improves the crossover rate and mutation rate by using otsu as fitness function and using the selection,crossover and mutation operations to search for the best segmentation threshold.The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively improve the image segmentation accuracy and calculation speed and it has good optimization ability.
