Identification and Evaluation for the New Rice Varieties Test of Late-maturing Group in Enshi Prefecture

Abstract：Enshi Prefecture is one of the zones in which the rice blast occurs frequently and seriously in China,so the time of rice varieties used on agricultural production is very short in the Enshi mountainous areas. Based on this characteristic,carrying out new rice varieties test and cultivar registration is the most effective way to solve the above-mentioned problem. In this study the new rice regional trial and produc?tive test of late-maturing group in Enshi were implemented from 2012 to 2014,in order to appraise and e?valuate systematicly the main indexes of 13 testing rice varieties,such as yield,growth period,agronomic traits,resistance,quality,etc.Through selecting high-quality, multi-resistance and high-yield hybrid rice varieties which are suitable to be cultivated in this area.These research results will provide a scientific ba?sis for Hubei Provincial Variety Examination and Approval Committee to register new good rice cultivars, and be much helpful to improve the regional sustainable development of modern seed industry.
