Synthesis of Salicylaldehyde R-(+)-α-phenylethylamine Schiff Base and its Reduction Product

Abstract：Using salicylaldehyde and ( R)-1-phenylethanamine as raw material , a Schiff base derivative 2-( ( ( R)-1-phenylethylimino ) methyl ) phenol was synthesized in ethanol .And the Schiff base was re-duced by NaBH 4 at room temperature .The structure of the two products was characterized by 1 H NMR and 13C NMR, respectively.
