Abstract:To ensure the stability of the thin coal seam grey limestone roof roadway and prevent excessive sup-port from causing instability of the roadway roof, this study focuses on a roadway in a coal mine in Luxi,China.Using numerical simulation, theoretical calculation, and other research methods, the study investigates the stress distribution characteristics of different types of grey limestone roof strata, the manifestation rules of surrounding rock pressure, the characteristics of plastic failure morphology, and the influence analysis of the critical safe thickness of the limestone. The research findings are as follows:The stress environment of the solid roadway is relatively favorable, with a lower degree of stress concentration, while along the void roadway, the influence range of the secondary mining is larger, and the degree of stress concentration is higher.Different degrees of support are required for the surrounding rock of the coal mine roadway under different stress environments, mainly focusing on strengthening the support on both sides of the roadway and, under specific conditions, enhancing the support within the advanced influence range.
