Abstract:Absrtact:Silver nanoparticles show attractive prospects in antimicrobials. However, silver nanoparticles have certain toxic side effects,so the construction of a smart response carrier system is expected to realize the on-demand release of silver nanoparticles. In this paper, silver nanoparticles functionalized with sodium alginate were prepared by reducing silver nitrate with sodium alginate, and the silver nanoparticles were screened by adjusting the reaction time, the reaction temperature, the concentration of silver nitrate, and the concentration of sodium alginate.Meanwhile, phenylboronic acid was modified into sodium alginate by the amidation reac-tion to construct sodium alginate functionalized with phenylboronic acid.Phenylboronic acid-functionalized sodium alginate and sodium alginate-functionalized silver nanoparticles were composited to construct a sugar-sensitive hydrogel based on phenylboronic acid-diol cyclic ester. The hydrogel was confirmed to have glucose-responsive,on-demand antimicrobial properties by in vitro antimicrobial experiments.
