Abstract:A large number of theoretical studies on the electromagnetic transient characteristics of the DFIG at the grid voltage drop has been done, and a variety of control strategies are proposed, while the research on electromagnetic transient characteristics of DFIG when grid voltage swell is less. In order to study the influence of voltage surge on the electromagnetic transient of DFIG and the corresponding control strategy, in this paper the steady-state and transient components of stator flux, rotor induced electromotive force and rotor current of DFIG are analyzed and compared when the voltage suddenly rises or falls. The simulation model of high voltage ride-through of 1. 5 MW doubly-fed wind turbines in MATLAB / Simulink is established to verify the theoretical analysis. It is proposed that when the voltage of the power grid is abruptly increased, the rotor of the DFIG is not prone to overcurrent, so the protection of the crowbar circuit may not be required. And relative to the grid voltage drop failure, the grid voltage surge, small changes in the voltage amplitude of the grid, the rotor-side converter is not prone to over-modulation.
