Abstract:Because there are some limitations of the identification methods of spontaneous combustion of coal at present, this paper attempts to introduce differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) to study the oxidation characteristics of coal at low temperature. The apparent activation energy of low-temperature oxidation of coal was calculated by DSC experiments at different particle sizes of different coal samples and according to the Kissinger method in DSC kinetics method. It was found that the smaller the coal particle size, the smaller the apparent activation energy, the greater the tendency to self-ignite. At the same time, the low-temperature oxidation activation energy of coal obtained by DSC kinetics method is compared with the actual spontaneous ignition cycle, and its presenting trend is consistent. Therefore, the research on the tendency of coal spontaneous combustion based on DSC dynamic method has certain theoretical and practical significance.
