Abstract：For determining basic roof strata and Limit Span of 4106 Fully Mechanized Caving Face in Pingshuo Coal Industry Company No .1 Coal Mine , considered sedimentation value of basic roof and residual floating coal thickness of mined out area and coefficient of expansion , preliminary determined theoretical height of mined out area.According to the equilibrium condition of overlying rock structure shift to high strata , Judge basic roof 1 is sandstone beyond roof 13.12 m distance.According to combination beam theory formula , calcu-lated load value of top coal&the immediate roof&basic roof in the face , initial caving step distance and peri-odic caving step distance , The results are in agreement with the results of mine pressure observation .
