Abstract:According to the theory of coal oxidation , coal is oxidized and produces heat when it contacts with oxygen .And the temperature of coal rises and reaches the point of coal spontaneous combustion due to the heat.So coal spontaneous combustion ability can be reflected by the oxidation heat release characteristics .In this paper , the heating and oxidation experiment was designed to determine heat release ability of coal .Also, three coal samples of 2#, 3#and 4#coal seam of Xuecun Coal Mine were selected for the study .During the ex-periments the oxygen consumption rate of coal , the rate of formation of CO and the generation rate of CO 2 in different temperatures were measured .Based on the measured values , heating intensity of coal samples was calculated and the scatter plot of the relationship between heating intensity and temperature was drawn .And then regression analysis was used to analyze the relationship between heating intensity and temperature during the heating and oxidation process of coal .In the low-temperature phase before and after the critical tempera-ture, heating intensity of coal and temperature showed a linear relationship .Before the critical temperature heating intensity of coal was low , and the rate of heating intensity of coal dramatically increased when it reached critical temperature .The results have important implications for the prevention of spontaneous com-bustion of coal .
