traveling- wave differential protection for EHV line with series compensated capacitor
Abstract：Based on directional traveling - wave difference both sides of the EHV transmission line, traveling - wave differential protection can distinguish fault, avoid the matter of compensation for capacitive current of current differential protection, and also eliminate the effects of capacitive current. Thus it can effectively used in protection of EHV transmission line with series compen- sated capacitor. EMTP simulation results show that the proposed scheme operates sensitively, rapidly and selectively, demonstrating good potential in field applications.
