Seismicity Character in South Jiangxi Province and Its Adjacent Area

Abstract：The space-time seismicity character before 5 moderate-strong earthquakes and the recent earthquake activity in south Jianxi province and its adjacent area is analyzed.The results show that: 2-3 years before the occurrence of moderate-strong earthquakes, ML≥3.5 earthquakes became more active and clustered, within 1 year before the moderate-strong earthquakes there were unusual quiet periods more than half a year of ML≥2.5 earthquakes;before most of the moderate-strong earthquakes, seismic gap or seismic belt appeared;the seismogenic interval of the moderate-strong earthquakes had the characteristics of periodic which reflects the cyclical nature of tectonic movement characteristics.
