The Application of Ridge Estimation in GPS Height Fitting With Polynomial Surface
Abstract:In polynomial surface fitting process, ill-conditioning problems of normal equation may lead to unreliable least squares estimation results. The application of ridge estimation in GPS Height fitting with polynomial surface is studied in this paper. A new method is developed in determining ridge parameter k of variance inflation factor. It is concluded through GPS Height experiments in certain areas that it is more precise than traditional polynomial surface fitting modes and can be well applied in complex terrains.
