Abstract：:In order to obtain a reasonable worker-assignment plan for small and medium-sized manufac-turing enterprises under"virtual process database" ( VPDs) operating system, and to minimize production cost, a worker-assignment model is constructed, through using the improved genetic algorithm of elitism preservation, optimizing the workers′assignment and scheduling in VPDs.Repeated simulation experi-ments and comparison show that the improved genetic algorithm has the faster speed of convergence, which indicates that it is effective.
