Project-based Employees’ Job Characteristics, Work-Family Conflict, and Need for Recovery Relations in Construction Industry

Abstract:Construction projects and their production particularities determine that the Project-based em-ployees′work-family conflict and need for recovery are particularly prominent , which will directly affect Project-based employees′job satisfaction and performance .Based on the review of existing literature , a conceptual model built by incorporating working conditions , work-family conflict and need for recovery through an empirical study involving 510 project-based employees .The results show that job demand has an indirect positive impact on the need for recovery through work-family conflict, while job support can ef-fectively alleviate the recovery needs .
