Abstract:Cancer-related depression(CRD)may accompany the entire course of cancer and exerts substantial negative effects on patients' psychological state, quality of life, and treatment outcomes. With the continued rise in global cancer incidence and accelerated population aging, the incidence of CRD has also shown a marked upward trend.Summarizing previous stud-ies,the occurrence of CRD is closely related to gender, age, education level, economic capacity, psychological factors,as well as cancer type, tumor staging, treatment modality, complications, and related pathophysiological mechanisms.There-fore,formulation of CRD treatment plans needs to be closely combined with the patient's specific disease characteristics, with a comprehensive assessment of the clinical efficacy and safety of interventions to determine an appropriate treatment regimen.Acupuncture has advantages in treating CRD,including multiple targets, overall regulation, fewer side effects, and absence of addiction. This article reviews the influencing factors of CRD and the research status of acupuncture treat-ment for CRD,with the aim of providing a reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment practice.
