Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of artificial insemination or timed intercourse-assisted ovulation induction pro-tocol on pregnancy outcomes in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS),to provide a reference for clinical treat-ment.Methods A total of 150 PCOS patients admitted to Xingtai Central Hospital from January 2021 to July 2023 were en-rolled and assigned to the artificial insemination group(n=74)and timed intercourse group(n=76).The artificial insemi-nation group underwent controlled ovarian with an ovulation induction regimen, while the timed intercourse group received the same controlled ovarian and medication regimen followed by timed intercourse.Pregnancy was confirmed 14 days after ultrasound-confirmed ovulation via urine test or serum β-hCG.Clinical pregnancy rates, live birth rates, neonatal outcomes, complications, and adverse reactions during treatment were compared. Results The artificial insemination group demon-strated significantly higher clinical pregnancy and live birth rates than the timed intercourse group(P<0.05).No signifi-cant differences were observed in neonatal adverse outcomes or adverse reaction rates during treatment between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion For PCOS patients, ovulation induction followed by artificial insemination offers significant advantages over timed intercourse in improving clinical pregnancy and live birth rates, with comparable safety profiles in terms of neonatal outcomes and treatment-related adverse reactions.
