Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of Dachaihu decoction in treating acute pancreatitis(AP),aiming to pro-vide a reference for clinical treatment. Methods This study selected 60 AP patients treated at Chengdu Fifth People's Hospital from May 2021 to December 2022 as research participants.Patients were allocated to a control group and a study group using a random number table, with 30 patients in each group. The control group received somatostatin treatment;the study group received modified Dachaihu decoction in addition to the control group's treatment.Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)syn-drome scores, intestinal flora levels, serum inflammatory factors, and biochemical indicators were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results Before treatment, there were no statistically significant differences in TCM syn-drome scores for epigastric and abdominal distension and pain, sticky and obstructed stool, chest tightness, fever, excessive thirst with preference for drinking, and scanty dark-yellow urine between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment,TCM syndrome scores for all six symptoms decreased in both groups compared to before treatment, and the study group had lower scores than the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Before treatment, there were no statistically significant differences in the counts of Enterobacteriaceae,Enterococcus,Bifidobacterium, and Lactobacillus in intestinal flora between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, counts of Enterobacteriaceae and Enterococcus decreased in both groups compared to before treatment, while counts of Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus increased;moreover, the study group had fe-wer Enterobacteriaceae and Enterococcus and more Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus than the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Before treatment, there were no statistically significant differences in serum interleukin-6(IL-6),procalcitonin(PCT),or tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)levels between the two groups(P>0.05).After treat-ment,IL-6,PCT,and TNF-α levels decreased significantly in both groups, and the study group had significantly lower levels than the control group(P<0.05).Before treatment, there were no statistically significant differences in white blood cell(WBC)count, amylase(AMS),or lipase(LPS)levels between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment,WBC,AMS,and LPS levels decreased significantly in both groups compared to before treatment, and the study group had significantly lower levels than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Dachaihu decoction demonstrates marked efficacy in treating AP,effec-tively promoting the restoration of intestinal microecology and digestive function while mitigating inflammatory responses, holding promise for clinical promotion and application.
