Abstract:Objective To investigate the effects of Kuntai capsule combined with artificial cycle hormone therapy on ovarian re-serve function and serum levels of Afamin(vitamin E-binding glycoprotein)and Peli1(E3 ubiquitin ligase in monocytes)in pa-tients with premature ovarian insufficiency(POI),aiming to provide a reference for clinical treatment. Methods A total of 106 POI patients admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicine from March 2021 to February 2024 were selected as research participants.Patients were allocated to a control group and a combination group using a random number table, with 53 patients in each group. The control group received artificial cycle hormone therapy. The combination group received Kuntai Capsule combined with artificial cycle hormone therapy. Both groups were treated for 6 menstrual cy-cles.Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)syndrome scores, total ovarian volume(TOV),antral follicle count(AFC),and serum Afamin and Peli1 levels were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.Therapeutic efficacy was compared between the two groups after treatment.Follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),luteinizing hormone(LH),and es-tradiol(E2)levels were compared between the two groups before and after treatment(measured from blood samples collected on day 4 of the menstrual cycle). Results Before treatment, there were no statistically significant differences in primary and secondary symptom scores of TCM syndrome between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, primary and secondary symptom scores decreased in both groups compared to before treatment, and the combination group had lower scores than the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The overall response rate was significantly higher in the combination group than in the control group(P<0.05).Before treatment, there were no statistically significant differences in FSH,LH,or E2 levels between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment,FSH and LH levels decreased in both groups compared to before treatment, while E2 levels increased;moreover, the combination group had significantly lower FSH and LH levels and higher E2 levels than the control group(P<0.05).Before treatment, there were no statistically significant differences in TOV or AFC between the two groups(P>0.05);after treatment,TOV increased and AFC increased in both groups compared to before treatment;furthermore, the combination group had significantly greater TOV and more AFC than the control group(P<0.05).Before treatment, there were no statistically significant differences in serum Afamin or Peli1 lev-els between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, serum Afamin and Peli1 levels decreased in both groups compared to before treatment, and the combination group had significantly lower levels than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Kuntai capsule combined with conventional artificial cycle hormone therapy for POI effectively strengthens therapeutic efficacy, regulates sex hormone imbalances, promotes ovarian reserve function, and modulates serum Afamin and Peli1 levels, making it worthy of clinical promotion and application.
