Abstract:Objective To evaluate the efficacy of Longdan Xiegan Decoction in postoperative care for patients undergoing hemorrhoidectomy. Methods Sixty patients undergoing hemorrhoidectomy were randomly divided into a control group with routine postoperative care(n=30)and an observation group received additional treatment with Longdan Xiegan Decoction(n=30).Outcomes,including total white blood cell count(WBC),C-reactive protein(CRP)levels, edema area scores, and secretion scores, were compared between groups at post-operative 1 d and 3 d.Results Postoperative VAS scores at 1 d and 3 d were significantly lower in the observation group compared to the control group(P<0.05).Edema area scores at 1 d and secretion scores at both postoperative 1 d and 3 d were lower in the observation group(P<0.05).At day 3,WBC and CRP levels in the observation group were significantly reduced compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combined use of Longdan Xiegan Decoction with routine care improves postoperative outcomes in hemorrhoidectomy pa-tients by reducing inflammatory markers, alleviating edema, and decreasing secretions, making it a valuable therapeutic op-tion.
