Abstract:Objective This study aimed to evaluate the preventive and control effects of a multidimensional community health literacy promotion on nutritional iron-deficiency anemia(IDA)in children,in order to explore the effectiveness of health ed-ucation in reducing the prevalence of pediatric nutritional IDA.Methods Based on annual reports of 0-6 year-old children living in the community in Beijing,we selected all registered 0-3 year-old children under our center's management as the study population:108 children in 2021,76 in 2022,and 78 in 2023.Interventions included breastfeeding guidance,comple-mentary feeding counseling, health education lectures, dissemination of nutrition and feeding educational videos via WeChat social media groups, and parenting support group activities.Hemoglobin levels were collected during routine physical exami-nations to assess anemia status. Results The anemia rate declined yearly:19.44%in 2021,9.21%in 2022,and 1.28%in 2023.The 2023 anemia rate was significantly lower than that in 2021(P<0.05).Conclusion Community-based,multidi-mensional health literacy promotion—through the provision of evidence-based nutrition guidance and health education—effec-tively reduces the incidence of nutritional IDA and overweight in children, and is of marked value in promoting healthy child development.
