Abstract:Objective To investigate the physical development status and differences of early term infants, late term infants and healthy term infants at 0-2 years old,and to provide scientific basis for early health intervention of term infants.Meth-ods A total of 86 full-term infants born in the neonatology department of Xingtai Central Hospital from April 2022 to April 2024 were selected as the study objects, and were divided into early term infants group(n=42)and late term infants group(n=42)according to the gestational age of the full-term infants, and 42 healthy full-term newborns born in the hospital dur-ing the same period were selected as the healthy term infants group. The characteristics of physical development between 0 and 2 years old were analyzed and compared. Results The Z scores of body weight and body length were lower in the early term small sample group and the late term small sample group, and the Z scores showed an upward trend in the first year af-ter birth. The scores of body weight and body length △Z1 were higher than those of healthy term infants(P<0.05).The rapid growth rates of body weight and body length between 0 and 2 years in the early term small sample group were 69.04%and 52.38%,respectively,and the rapid growth rates of body weight and body length between 0 and 2 years in the late term small sample group were 66.67%and 57.14%,respectively,which were higher than those of healthy term infants(P<0.05).Low body weight and growth retardation were higher in early term small sample group and late term small sample group than healthy term infants at all months after birth, and overweight and obesity rates were lower than healthy term in-fants,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with healthy term infants, early and late term infants lag behind in physical development, but the proportion of catch-up growth in weight and length within 2 years is higher, and the incidence of malnutrition is higher in term infants. Therefore, clinical and family should strengthen the early nutrition and health care management and growth rate monitoring of children after birth, which can not only pro-mote the rapid catch-up growth of full-term infants, but also prevent malnutrition of full-term infants.
