Abstract:Acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS)is a type of acute respiratory failure caused by non-cardiogenic pul-monary or extrapulmonary injury factors, characterized by diffuse alveolar inflammation and edema.Sepsis is a major trigger of ARDS and is associated with high mortality rates.Imbalanced inflammatory responses are a key pathogenic mechanism, and the imbalance between helper T cells 17(Th17)and regulatory T cells(Treg),which are critical pro-inflammatory/an-ti-inflammatory immunomodulatory cells, plays a pivotal role in the progression of ARDS.This review focuses on exploring the mechanisms of Th17/Treg imbalance in sepsis-induced ARDS,aiming to provide new immunomodulatory targets for the clinical treatment of ARDS.
