Construction of a core set of clinical pain treatment outcome indicators for acute and critical patients

Abstract:Objective There are diverse assessment indicators for evaluating the effectiveness of clinical pain treatment in acute and critical patients,but there is no comprehensive and standardized set of outcome indicators for pain treatment,which severely limits the scientific judgment of clinical outcomes.To address this issue,this study aimed to construct a core set of outcome indicators for evaluating the effectiveness of clinical pain treat-ment in acute and critical patients,with the goal of reflecting the effects of pain treatment from an objective and multi-dimensional perspective.Meth-ods Various research methods,including systematic review,Delphi questionnaire survey,semi-structured interviews,operations research theory,and expert consensus meetings,were employed to form the core set of clinical outcome indicators.Results A core set of outcome indicators for pain treatment in acute and critical patients was constructed,including categories such as pain factors,pain severity assessment,laboratory indicators,quality of life and sleep,severity of illness,endpoint indicators,safety indicators,and medication usage.Conclusion The construction of a core set of outcome indicators for clinical pain treatment in acute and critical patients contributes to the selection of outcome indicators and the generation of evi-dence-based medicine for pain treatment in clinical practice.
