Abstract:Objective To explore the application of micro-lecture learning(ML)combined with case-based study(CBS)in the standardized training of residents in the. Methods A total of 74 standardized training residents(referred to as"resi-dents")rotating in the Department of Gastroenterology of Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital from December 2020 to Au-gust 2022 were selected as participants, who were randomly assigned to the CBS group and the ML combined with CBS group, with 37 residents in each group.Residents in the CBS group were taught using the CBS teaching method;while the residents in the ML combined with CBS group, the CBS combined with ML teaching method. The examination scores,phy-sician-patient communication skills scores, teaching effectiveness scores, and degree of satisfaction with teaching of the two groups were compared. Results No statistically significant difference was observed in the examination scores of basic knowledge of digestive diseases between the two groups after training(P>0.05).The scores of case analysis of digestive diseases, clinical skills examination, and total scores of the residents in the ML combined with CBS group were significantly higher than those in the CBS group(P<0.05).No statistically significant difference was found in the scores of Set the stage,Elicit information,Give information,Understand the patient's perspective, and End the encounter(SEGUE)scale between the two groups before training(P>0.05).The SEGUE scores of both groups were higher after training, and the residents in the ML combined with CBS group had significantly higher scores than those in the CBS group(P<0.05).The teaching effectiveness scores of the residents in the ML combined with CBS group were significantly higher than those in the CBS group(P<0.05).The degree of satisfaction with teaching of the residents in the ML combined with CBS group was significantly higher than that of the CBS group(Z=2.966,P<0.001).Conclusion Teaching and training among residents in the department of gastroenterology using ML combined with CBS can significantly improve their mastery of basic knowl-edge of digestive diseases, professional skills, case analysis ability, and physician-patient communication ability. It is recog-nized by the majority of residents and contributes to raising the quality of clinical skills teaching, holding promise for a wider application in the standardized training of residents in the department of gastroenterology.
