Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of edaravone combined with gastrodin on cerebrovascular function in elderly hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage patients. Methods A total of 102 elderly hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage pa-tients admitted to Beijing Shijitan Hospital,Capital Medical University from January 2019 to September 2022 were selected and allocated to a control group(49 cases)and an observation group(53 cases)according to different treatment plans. The control group received intravenous infusion of edaravone, while the observation group received intravenous infusion of edara-vone combined with gastrodin. The cerebrovascular function, clinical efficacy, levels of inflammatory factors, hemorrhage volume, and occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment,no signifi-cant difference was observed in cerebrovascular mean flow velocity, mean flow rate, peripheral resistance, and dynamic re-sistance between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, the cerebrovascular mean flow velocity and mean flow rate in both groups were higher than before treatment, and the observation group was higher than the control group;the peripheral resistance and dynamic resistance were lower than before treatment, and the observation group was lower than the control group, all with statistical significance(P<0.05).The overall response rate of the observation group was significantly high-er than that in the control group[84.91%(45/53)vs.67.35%(33/49);x2=4.363,P=0.037].Before treatment,no significant difference was found in the levels of serum interleukin-6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α),and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, the levels of serum hs-CRP,IL-6,and TNF-α in both groups were significantly lower than before treatment, and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group(P<0.05).The difference in the incidence of adverse reactions during the treatment period be-tween the control group and the observation group was not statistically significant[12.24%(6/49)vs.9.43%(5/53);x2=0.209,P=0.647].Before treatment, there was no significant difference in hemorrhage volume between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, the hemorrhage volume in both groups was significantly decreased, and the observa-tion group was significantly less than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Edaravone combined with gastrodin dem-onstrates marked clinical efficacy in the treatment of elderly hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage patients. It can effective-ly strengthen cerebrovascular function, and alleviate inflammatory reactions, with a high safety profile, providing certain guidance for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
