Abstract:The prevalence of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)has increased in recent years, driven by factors such as the universal two-child policy and advanced maternal age.Nurses with a second pregnancy diagnosed with GDM constitute a distinct subgroup. They face compounded pressures from high work intensity, irregular shift work, and pre-existing childcare duties, all of which can undermine adherence to conventional GDM management protocols. In recent years, advances in intelligent health technology have offered new solutions to support self-management in this population. This paper examines the unique challenges faced by nurses with a second pregnancy complicated by GDM in clinical practice. It reviews the current application, advantages, and limitations of intelligent intervention tools for GDM self-management in this specific professional group. It proposes an optimized pathway to inform tailored strategies and provide practical recommendations for enhancing GDM self-management among nurses with a second pregnancy.
