Abstract:Objective To explore the experience and needs of parturient who experienced trembling during cesarean section, providing a reference for developing targeted interventions to improve intraoperative maternal experience. Methods A descriptive phenomenological research method was adopted.Fifteen parturients who underwent transabdominal lower uterine segment cesarean section and experienced intraoperative shivering were selected from Zhongshan People's Hospital between December 2023 and December 2024.Semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted, and data were analyzed using Colaizzi seven-step method. Results Four main themes and thirteen sub-themes were identified:weak cognition of shivering(insufficient knowledge, limited access to information, inadequate attention, and cognitive misconceptions);adverse physiological experiences(extreme cold sensation, uncontrollable shivering);adverse psychological experiences(feeling of unfamiliarity and helplessness, exacerbation of negative emotions, dual concerns);coping needs for shivering(multi-dimensional informational support, professional intervention measures, desire for psychological support, and expectation of family accompaniment). Conclusions Healthcare providers should pay more attention to intraoperative shivering in parturients. In addition to focusing on cold-induced shivering,non-cold-induced trembling should also be given significant attention.Multi-dimensional intervention strategies, including temperature management, psychological intervention, pharmacological treatment, and Chinese massage, should be implemented to achieve more precise control of intraoperative shivering, thereby enhancing the overall childbirth experience of parturients.
