Abstract:Objective To construct thirst nursing intervention scheme for urological patients after general anesthesia using the action research method and to evaluate its effectiveness. Methods From June 2023 to August 2024,urological patients with general anesthesia in Zhongshan People's Hospital were selected by convenient sampling method.Fifty patients admitted from June to October 2023 were assigned to the control group;the thirst nursing intervention plan was constructed based on the action study method.Fifty patients admitted from November 2023 to March 2024 were assigned to the pre-experiment process(first cycle),and 50 patients admitted from April to August 2024 were set as the observation group(second cycle).Numerical Rating Scale(NRS)and perioperative thirst discomfort scale(PTDS)were used to evaluate subjective thirst and discomfort before surgery and 1 h,3 h and 6 h after surgery, respectively. Results Finally,49 cases in the control group and 49 cases in the observation group were included in statistical analysis. The time-point effect(Ftime-point=1 550.048,1 824.203),intergroup effect(Fintergroup=63.325,101.016)and interaction effect(Finteraction=24.194,57.346)of NRS scores,PTDS scores at different time points in the two groups were statistically significant(all P<0.05).NRS scores,PTDS scores in the observation group at 1 h,3 h and 6 h after operation were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions The establishment of thirst nursing intervention scheme after urological general anesthesia using the action research method is beneficial for reducing early postoperative thirst degree.
