Abstract:This study summarized the nursing care for the breastfeeding support to a 27 weeks and 2 days intrauterine growth-restricted preterm infant. The Information-Motivation-Behavioral Skills model was implemented to support breastfeeding throughout four key stages:antenatal period,hospitalization,pre-discharge,and six months post-discharge.The infant was successfully discharged after 92 days of hospitalization. At six-month follow-up,her catch-up growth was comparable to that of normal level for the same age. This nursing case offers valuable insights into the effective application of the Information-Motivation-Behavioral Skills model in breastfeeding support for extremely preterm infants with intrauterine growth restriction.
