Abstract:Objective To evaluate the efficacy of electronic moxibustion therapy in alleviating cancer-related fatigue(CRF)in colorectal cancer patients after chemotherapy. Methods 60 hospitalized colorectal cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy at Jiangsu Province Hospital of Chinese Medicine between January 2023 and December 2023 were enrolled and then randomly assigned into a control group and an observation group with 30 cases in each group by envelope method. The control group was given basic treatment and chemotherapy routine nursing care, while the observation group was given additional electronic moxibustion therapy. The scores of Brief Fatigue Inventory(BFI)and Karnofsky Performance Status(KPS)were compared between the two groups. Results After chemotherapy, the score of BFI was significantly lower in the observation group than that in the control group(P<0.01).KPS scores in both groups were lower than before, but the score of observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions Electronic moxibustion therapy can effectively reduce cancer-related fatigue and help to maintain functional status in colorectal cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, indicating its potential clinical value.
