Abstract:Objective To investigate the occurrence of symptom cluster and explore the correlation between symptom cluster and self-management efficacy during chemotherapy in patients with gastrointestinal cancer. Methods From July 2023 to December 2023,201 patients with gastrointestinal tumor were selected, the Chinese version of Anderson Symptom Assessment Scale and Chinese version of Cancer Self-management Efficacy Scale were used to investigate.Symptom cluster were extracted by exploratory factor analysis, and the relationship between them was analyzed by Pearson correlation. Results Exploratory factor analysis showed that there were emotion-related symptoms group, lower gastrointestinal symptoms group,neuro-related symptoms group and upper gastrointestinal symptoms group during chemotherapy, and the variance contribution rate of each symptom group was 55.457%,8.503%,5.127%,4.684%,respectively.All symptom cluster were negatively correlated with all dimensions of self-management efficacy(P<0.05).Conclusions There are many symptom cluster in patients with gastrointestinal tumor during chemotherapy, and these symptom cluster were negatively correlated with self-management efficacy. The clinical nurses should pay attention to the symptom cluster management of patients and improve their self-management efficacy.
