Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of Health Action Process Approach(HAPA)theory on the rehabilitation training of elderly patients with post-stroke depression(PSD).Methods 106 elderly patients with PSD in the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University were selected from July 2021 to July 2023,and were divided into observation group and control group by simple randomization, with 53 cases in each group. The control group recevied routine nursing intervention, while the observation group was given nursing intervention under the guidance of HAPA theory.Health behavior[Health-Promoting Lifestyle Profile(HPLP)],neurological function[National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)],activity ability[Barthel Index(BI)],depression level[Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD)]and psychological status[Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC)]were compared between the two groups of patients before intervention and after three months of intervention. Results After three months of intervention, the scores of HPLP,BI and CD-RISC were increased in the two groups, and the scores in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group(P<0.05).The scores of NIHSS and HAMD were decreased in both groups after three months of intervention, and the observation group had significantly lower scores than those in control group(P<0.05).Conclusions HAPA theory intervention can effectively alleviate depression, and improve the rehabilitation training effect and outcome of elderly patients with PSD.
