Effect of continuous nursing care in clinic of wound ostomy nursing specialty on the quality of life of elderly patients with enterostomy

Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of continuous nursing care in wound ostomy nursing specialist outpatient clinics on the quality of life of elderly patients with enterostomy.Methods From February 2021 to February 2022,58 elderly patients with enterostomy who undergoing treatment in our hospital were selected and divided into experimental group( n=29) and control group( n=29),patients in experimental group received continuous nursing care in wound ostomy nursing specialist outpatient clinics,while patients in control group received routine care.GQOLI-74 was used to assessed patients' quality of life.Results The scores of GQOLI-74 showed no significant differences between the two groups at the time of discharge.However,the scores in the experimental group were higher than in the control group at three months after discharge(P<0.05).The incidence of related complications in the experimental group was 3.45%,which was lower than that in the control group (24.14%) (P<0.05).Care satisfaction was higher in the experimental group than that in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusions Continuous nursing care in clinic of wound ostomy care nursing specialty in elderly patients with enterostomy can effectively improve the quality of life and reduce the incidence of enterostomy-related complications during rehabilitation.
