Abstract:Objective To evaluate the impact of family participation model on the rehabilitation outcomes of patients with multiple metatarsal fractures. Methods A total 100 patients with multiple metatarsal fractures admitted to Changshu N0.2 People's Hospital from October 2021 to October 2022 were selected and divided into two groups using a random number table method, with 50 patients in each group. The patients of the control group received routine intervention, while the patients of the observation group received rehabilitation intervention based on family participation model. The rehabilitation status, recovery of foot function, pain level, and changes in self-care ability were compared between the two groups. Results The postoperative healing, walking, and hospitalization time in the observation group were 44.01±4.27 days,63.39±5.28 days, and 29.96±4.03 days, respectively, which were all shorter than those of the control group(P<0.05).The foot function recovery rate of the patients of the observation group was excellent, with a excellent and good recovery rate of 90%(45/50),which was higher than that of the control group's(74%,37/50)(P<0.05).After intervention, the pain level in the patients of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, with pain-free in 28%(14/50),mild pain in 42%(21/50),moderate pain in 28%(14/50),and severe pain in 2%(1/50),which were better than that of the control group(P<0.05).The total score of self-care ability of the patients of the observation group after intervention was 138.01±9.95,which was higher than that of the control group 112.83±10.03(P<0.05).Conclusions The intervention based on family participation model applied to patients with multiple metatarsal fractures could improve self-care ability, reduce the degree of pain, and promote early recovery.Involving family members in the patient's rehabilitation plan at the same time may be an effective method, whichis worthy of further promotion and application.
