Current status and influencing factors of public health emergency response ability of nurses in infectious diseases department in Guangxi

Abstract:Objective To assess the emergency response capabilities of nurses in infectious diseases department of Guangxi,and analyze the influencing factors,with the aim of providing a theoretical foundation for nursing managers to enhance the emergency response abilities of nursing staff.Methods A total of 687 nurses specializing in infectious disease nursing from 58 hospitals in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were selected using a convenience sampling method.They were surveyed with a general information questionnaire and a nurses' public health emergency response ability questionnaire.Results The average score of public health emergency response ability was(4.19±0.63),indicating a high level of competence.Multiple linear stepwise regression analysis showed that hospital level,professional title,membership in a rescue team,participating in emergency rescue and participation in emergency rescue and training were the primary factors of nurses'emergency response abilities(P<0.05).Conclusions The emergency response abilities of nurses engaged in infectious disease nursing in Guangxi have reached a high level.However,emergency management systems still need to be improved,and well-structured training programs need to be developed to improve nurses' emergency abilities.
