Application of ultrasound in elderly patients with pressure injury in ICU

Abstract：Objective To explore the application effect of ultrasound technology in the pressure injury of patients with severe diseases.Methods From January 2022 to February 2023,150 elderly patients were selected from the emergency intensive care unit of Suzhou Hospital affiliated to Nanjing Medical University.They were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,with 75 patients in each group.The control group used traditional methods for pressure injury risk assessment,and the observation group used ultrasound technology for pressure injury risk assessment.The healing and improvement time of pressure injury,ICU treatment days,total hospitalization days,incidence of hospital-acquired pressure injuries,family satisfaction in clinical care and the staging compliance rate of ultrasound-assisted examinations were compared.Results The healing and improvement time of pressure injury,ICU treatment days,and total hospitalization days were significantly lower in the observation group than those in the control group;family members'clinical satisfaction was significantly higher in the observation group than those in the control group;the staging accuracy of ultrasonography for stage three pressure injury and deep tissue injury was higher(P＜0.05).Conclusions Ultrasound technology plays a positive role in the management of pressure injuries in patients with severe diseases and it is worthy of clinical application.
