Study on the effect of continuous care on compliance and knowledge of patients with temporomandibular joint disorder

Abstract：Objective To observe the effect of continuous care on the compliance and knowledge of patients with temporomandibular joint disorder.Methods 100 patients with temporomandibular joint disorder treated in the Affiliated Stomatdogical Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected,50 patients from January to December 2021 were set as the control group and 50 patients from January to December 2022 were set as the observation group.The control group received the conventional care,while the observation group received the continuous care.Results The patients in the observation group had lower disease uncertainty score,higher health management knowledge awareness score and health management compliance score,lower pain score and higher mouth opening degree than the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusions The continuous care for patients with temporomandibular joint disorder is beneficial to reduce the uncertainty of the disease,improve the health management knowledge awareness and compliance,reduce the pain and increase the mouth opening.
