Abstract:Objective To investigate the evaluation of the effect of the HAPA theory of care model on the self-management ability of patients with chronic periodontitis treated with implants. Methods Ninety patients with chronic periodontitis who underwent implant denture restoration in Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from March 2022 to October 2022 were selected and divided into two groups according to the random number table method, with 45 cases in each group. The control group used conventional nursing intervention;the experimental group used the HAPA theoretical model for nursing intervention.Periodontal indicators(PLI,BI and PD),Adult Health Self-Management Scale(AHSMSRS)scores and patient satisfaction with care were compared between the two groups after the intervention. Results The periodontal indexes in the test group were significantly better than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05);the AHSMSRS scores in the test group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.01);and the satisfaction with care in the test group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions The HAPA theoretical model applied to patients with chronic periodontitis implant treatment could improve patients'periodontal indexes, enhance self-management ability and improve nursing satisfaction, which has clinical application value and is worth promoting.
