Application of simulation-based and peer-assisted teaching mode in practical teaching of Geriatric Nursing in higher vocational college

Abstract：Objective To improve the quality of practical teaching of Geriatric Nursing for nursing students in higher vocational college.Methods 80 nursing students from two classes in 2021 nursing were selected and were taught with simulation-based and peer-assisted teaching mode in practical teaching of Geriatric Nursing.All participants were assessed with Learning Immersion Scale in Clinical Simulation(LISS)and Gerontological Nursing Competence Scale(GeroNursingCom)before and after the practice teaching.Results The total scores of LISS and GeroNursingCom were higher than before(P＜0.01).Conclusions The application of simulation-based and peer-assisted teaching mode in practical teaching of Geriatric Nursing is practical and can improve nursing students'learning immersion in clinical simulation and gerontological nursing competence.
