Abstract:Liver fibrosis is characterized by the excess deposition of extracellular matrix components within the liver, which can impair its structure and function. The gold standard for diagnosing liver fibrosis is an invasive liver biopsy. As a non-invasive technique,MRI plays an important role in evaluation of liver fibrosis.MRI techniques such as magnetic resonance elastography, diffusion weighted imaging and advanced diffusion models,Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced MRI,quantitative T1 technology, quantitative susceptibility mapping, and MRI-based artificial intelligence are increasingly applied in this field. We reviewed recent research advancements in various MRI techniques and MRI-based artificial intelligence for the non-invasive evaluation of liver fibrosis.
