Abstract:Duchenne muscular dystrophy(DMD)is the most common genetic muscle disorder in children.Multimodel MRI,such as water-fat separation(Dixon),T2 mapping, diffusion tensor imaging(DTI),MRS,and 23Na-MRI can objectively quantify microscopic changes in muscle tissue based on showing muscle morphological characteristics and pathological changes. These techniques allow for a comprehensive,non-invasive assessment of the severity and progression of the disease, and can even detect early muscle damage. Moreover, the combined application of various imaging methods aids in multi-dimensional and multi-parameter characterization of disease features. The development of artificial intelligence in the field of muscle imaging has also improved the accuracy of disease diagnosis. This review discusses the advancements in the application of quantitative MRI of skeletal muscle and artificial intelligence in DMD.
