Abstract:Pulmonary arterial hypertension(PAH)is a chronic disease with high mortality, which is mainly character-ized by progressive pulmonary vascular remodeling.Pharmacologically induced animal models of PAH have played a crucial role in gaining a deeper understanding of the pathogenesis of PAH and exploring new therapeutic strategies. This review focuses on the models of PAH induced by monocrotaline and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor inhibitors(SU5416),along with their imaging evaluation.Special emphasis is placed on the methods of model construction, selection of experi-mental animals, and the application of ultrasound,micro-CT,and cardiac magnetic resonance in assessing PAH models.
