Abstract:Hepatolenticular degeneration(HLD)is an autosomal recessive disorder of copper metabolism.Magnetic resonance imaging techniques, such as diffusion-weighted imaging(DWI),susceptibility-weighted imaging(SWI),quantitative susceptibility mapping(QSM),hydrogen proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy(1H-MRS),proton density fat fraction(PDFF),neurite orientation dispersion and density imaging(NODDI),and cardiac magnetic resonance(CMR)could noninvasively monitor systemic organ disease in HLD patients. This article reviews the current clinical applications of various MRI techniques in the disease monitoring and prognosis assessment of HLD.
