Fractional flow reserve derived from computed tomography angiography: Physical principles, considerations and interpretation of results
QIAO Hongyan
Abstract:Invasive fractional flow reserve(FFR)is now the gold standard for evaluating coronary artery physiological function.FFR derived from coronary CT angiography(FFRCT)is an imaging post-processing technique, which can be used to evaluate lesion-specific ischemia.Evidences have confirmed its high diagnostic accuracy.FFRCThas been rapidly applied to clinical practice from research. How to optimally implement FFRCTin the daily clinical workflow to maximize the benefit to patients attracts widespread concerns. This review presents the physical principles of FFRCT,considerations and interpretation of FFRCTresults to provide guidance for the clinical application of FFRCT.
