Abstract:Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI)can reflect the diffusion condition of water molecular in vivo tissues. Due to different diffusivities of water molecules in pancreas tissues among different stages of pancreatic diseases, several parameters of DWI can be used to qualitatively and quantitatively assess the pancreatic diseases in diagnosis, differential diagnosis and classification. In this paper we reviewed the mechanism of DWI,and the application of DWI,diffusion tensor imaging(DTI)and diffusion kurtosis imaging(DKI)techniques in classification of the common diseases of pancreas and their limitations.
