Abstract:Amide proton transfer (APT)imaging is a new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)method. It is the most mature branch of chemical exchange saturation transfer imaging (CEST)technology so far, which is able to probe exchange rate between the amide protons of endogenous mobile protein or polypeptide chain and water protons to evaluate the changes of protein concentration and pH value. The APT has the advantages of safety,accuracy,non-invasion and quantitative anal-ysis.We mainly expound the basic principle of APT imaging and review its current applications in the central nervous system.
