Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical and radiological manifestations, pathological characteristics and dif-ferential diagnosis by assessing the features of the lung metastasis of a malignant triton tumor (MTT) on plain and enhanced CT and reviewing the related literatures. Methods Comprehensively reviewed the relevant literatures concerning MTT and evaluated the clinical history and CT data of one MTT case. Results On the plain CT, the mass was localized in the superior lobe of right lung, with round shape and CT value of 39-46 HU. The mass showed a clear and smooth border, and its size was 9.9 cm×9.3 cm×6.8 cm. The adjacent lung tissue was compressed by the mass. The mass was heterogeneously enhanced with clear border on the enhanced CT examination. The CT values were 39-50 HU, 40-56 HU, and 50-61 HU at 30 s, 60 s, and 90 s, respectively. Percutaneous aspiration lung biopsy was conducted and the immuohistochemical analysis revealed that Vimentin+, SMA+, Desmin+, S-100 focal area+, CK-,TTF-1-, CK5/6-, 34βE12-, Syn focal area+, and CD56+, sup-porting lung metastasis of MTT. Conclusion The radiological findings of MTT are not specific and a definite diagnosis should be based on the clinical history, histological and immunohistochemistrical analyses.
