Abstract:Legg-Clavé-Perthes disease (LCPD) is osteonecrosis of the femoral head epiphysis, which is a common and important disease of the hip disorders in children. The progress of LCPD must be strictly and carefully evaluated before clini-cal diagnosis and treatment. X-ray has been widely used in LCPD staging. However, with the development of MRI, we can find the epiphyseal signal change at early stage, and can analyze the process of the disease by observing the morphological changes of proximal femur in patients with LCPD. MRI can also be used to evaluate the blood supply of early necrosis, predict prognosis.MRI provides many clinical indicators. In this review we focused on the progress of MRI in LCPD.
